Report from Brian Adams following HS2 Traffic Liaison meeting with LBH:
The following is our latest understanding of the works taking place locally which will impact travelling. Some of the programmes are still being discussed and there may be changes to durations and dates.
February
9 – 10 Chiltern Line is closed between Marylebone and High Wycombe for HS2 works
11- 17 Creation of new access to HS2 West Ruislip construction site which will result in closure of northbound cycle lane and pavement (opposite road to West Ruislip station car park)
March
11- 17 Harvil Road will be closed to enable repairs to the railway bridge (Note: this is a Network Rail programme not HS2)
March -April
HS2 Test pilings for the viaduct will be made in West Hyde, off Harvil Road (and possibly Moorhall Road). This will create HGV movements in Harvil Road, Swakeleys Road and Swakeleys roundabout. The peak HGV movement is anticipated to be 300 per day.
May – July
HS2 closure of Breakspear Road South for 8 weeks. Currently scheduled to start 24 May but community concern over impact to students taking examinations may lead to change.
HS2 Tunnel Boring Machine power supply
This programmes is still under discussion but HS2 has proposed a route. This can be seen in this map (PowerPoint). Initially there will be test trenches but once the programme proceeds it will take place over a year. We are advised that one lane will always remain open and no resident will have works in front of their house for more than 4 weeks.
RAF Resurfacing of Northolt runway
There will be HGV movements but we do not yet have details of routes or numbers.
HS2 Main Works
We await details of the HGV movements.
Why are they bring allowed to use the road system between Rayners Lane and West Ruislip when they could use the current Met Pic line which is more of straight line, there is already a line from the Central line to the Met/Pic line may be during all this work they could arrange to run a few Central line trains through to Uxbridge which might alleviate the traffic around Ickenham , then could stop more Pic trains at Rayners Lane to free up slots at Uxbridge station .

You need to ask TfL. The Councils, HS2, the tunnel borers and TfL all tried to find a solution. Sadly, the HS2 Hybrid Bill lets all sorts of things happen that the public doesn’t like.
