2-Way Traffic Lights on Harvil Road by the junction with Highfield Drive for Affinity Water works will be introduced between Sat 24/10 and Sun 01/11. These works are not HS2 related and will take place during the School half-term break in Hillingdon.

The transition period will also include system testing, staff training, data validation and parallel operational monitoring to ensure the new platform is fully functional before becoming the primary operational system As the Garden Waste Collection Service is a discretionary, chargeable service and the proposal concerns changes to the operational method of service delivery rather than the withdrawal of the service, it is not proposed to undertake a public consultation Where a property is unsuitable for the use of a wheeled bin, alternative sack-based arrangements will continue to be available. The Council wants to remove all 700 of them and hasn’t asked residents what they think. Dog owners would be told to put their poo bags in ordinary litter bins, or take them home. A report dated 14 October asks Cllr Wayne Bridges, Cabinet Member for Residents’ Services, to approve the removal of all 700 or so standalone dog waste bins in Hillingdon. Dog owners would be told to use ordinary litter bins or take the bag home. It is a decision for Cllr Bridges alone, who can sign it off from Thursday 22nd October. The report says no formal public consultation has been carried out or is proposed. The Residents’ Services Select Committee can call the decision in before it takes effect, but only has five working days to do so. If Cllr Bridges signs on 22nd October, stickers reading “I can take dog waste too” could start appearing on selected litter bins from mid-November, and the dog waste bins could start to disappear from late January. |

| Our grateful thanks to Ruislip residents for flagging this Hillingdon First free parking to go phone-only, fewer ticket machines, and Sunday parking charges In July, Hillingdon’s Director of Community Safety & Enforcement, Richard Webb, told the Residents’ Services Select Committee that Pay & Display machines were under review and that proposals would need to be developed. Those proposals have now been published. A report dated 22 September 2026 to the Cabinet Member for Residents’ Services, Cllr Wayne Bridges, asks him to approve a public consultation on five changes to parking across the borough – and ticket machines are only one of them. Cllr Eddie Lavery, Cabinet Member for Finance, is also consulted. Cllr Bridges can sign off the decision from Wednesday 30th September, and Cabinet will make the final decision in December once the consultation has finished. The five proposals are: the resident discount, including the free half hour for Hillingdon First Card holders, to be available through Pay by Phone only, and no longer at ticket machines every driver to give their registration number when paying for parking, at machines as well as by phone a digital replacement for the Hillingdon First Card for resident parking rates fewer Pay & Display machines, with a principle for deciding which ones go Sunday charges at council car parks in Hayes town centre that are currently free on Sundays further info can be found on their website https://www.ruislipresidents.org.uk/parking-charge-changes/ |

| HS2 Works Notification: Overnight road closure on Newyears Green Lane – 28 to 29 September 2025 From 9pm on Sunday 28 September to 5am on Monday 29 September, we will be carrying out overnight surveys on Newyears Green Lane, at the junction with Breakspear Road South. To allow the surveys to be carried out safely, a section of Newyears Green Lane near the junction with Breakspear Road will be closed during the works. Diversion route will be sign posted. |
Hillingdon Council gives notice that to enable renewal works to be carried out by Affinity Water and to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public it made this Order, which will temporarily close Sweetcroft Lane, Uxbridge Outside 86.
2. No Diversion route will be in place.
Nothing in the Order shall apply to prevent vehicular access to premises on or adjacent to the prohibited length of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.
3. The temporary restriction will be in operation between 08:00hrs on the 12th October 2026 to 18:00hrs, on the 13th October 2026 and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002. Road users should assume that the closure has been put into effect only if traffic signs have been erected stating that the road
has been closed and the diversion route, if necessary is in place.
4. The Order, which is proposed will come into operation on 12th October 2026, will continue in force for eighteen months or until work to which it relates is completed. However, it is anticipated that the works will be completed within 2
Days.
