HS2 activity at West Ruislip

What we are doing
We wrote to you in December to inform you about works at our sites at
West Ruislip Portal. Works are ongoing to build the two Tunnel Boring
Machines and the launch chamber area and will continue throughout the
next few months until July 2022.
We will be carrying out the following activities:
• Preassembly of Tunnel Boring Machine
• Assembly of works area
• Tunnel Boring Machine Assembly
• Gantry assembly
We will only carry out activities agreed with the London Borough of
Hillingdon and will adhere to the agreed working hours, noise and vibration
You may notice periods of increased noise during these works. To minimise
noise, acoustic screens and tents will be used.
We would like to apologise in advance for any disruption or inconvenience
this may cause. Every effort is being taken to ensure that these works are
carried out in the least impactful way. We will ensure that disruption is kept
to a minimum

Duration of works
30 April 2022 to 29 July 2022
These activities will be 24/7

What to expect
Additional staff on site outside core hours
Delivery and set up of machinery, including welding equipment,
excavators, cranes, generators, forklift trucks

What we will do
Use acoustic screens and tents wherever possible
Limit the noisiest activities to core working hours
Advise our staff to be mindful of our neighbours
