HS2 hiccup – update

FROM HS2

We informed you last week that we were halting works across the London tunnels sections of the route following a serious near miss incident at our site at Green Park Way. We have now begun a safe restart across some of these worksites following a comprehensive review of safety procedures and leadership.

From Monday, 20 October, we will safely restart: Utilities work in South Hampstead area in Camden; The delivery of tunnel pre-cast concrete segments to the Willesden Euro Terminal in Ealing; and Earthworks in the West Ruislip area in Hillingdon. Additionally, a railway possession led by Network Rail will be carried out in the Old Oak Common area over the weekend to facilitate preparatory works.
Additional measures are being implemented by our contractor, Skanska Costain STRABAG joint venture, to ensure the safety of the workforce.

More sites will restart in due course as we continue to implement additional safety measures which are considered necessary following the review. We will not compromise on safety and sites will only restart once we are satisfied that all appropriate measures are in place to protect the workforce.

We will continue to keep you updated on further safe restarts in your area.
