HS2

Please note that links to details of ongoing major HS2-related works are on the Useful links page

The Association has been campaigning since 2010, initially against the HS2 project and, when the HS2 Act was passed, to mitigate against the local impacts of the project.

Although the local devastation from the construction sites is distressing, we have achieved changes; the planned HGV movements have been reduced from 1860/day to a maximum of 450/day. The concrete factories will not be built on our green belt. Haul roads between sites will reduce HGV traffic in the village. The huge railways sidings planned between Breakspear Road South and Harvil Road have been cancelled. Road closures have been moved to avoid peak times.

We work with other associations in Hillingdon, meeting each month with HS2 Ltd, their contractors and London Borough of Hillingdon officers. We maintain contacts with our councillors and MPs. We still have major challenges ahead.

Our united efforts are recorded in the Hillingdon HS2 Residents Support Group website and to avoid duplication please use this site.

We are preserving the Ickenham Residents’ Association HS2 archive for reference purposes.

Thank you.
