Parking in Beck theatre

The Cabinet Member for Community and Environment, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Planning, Housing & Growth has considered the responses to the formal consultation for the proposed introduction of parking charges within The Beck Theatre Car Park, Hayes and has made the following decision:
DECISION That the Cabinet Member for Community and Environment, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Planning, Housing & Growth: Considered the objections received to the proposed parking charges for The Beck Theatre Car Park, Hayes; and Decided to introduce the parking charges as proposed.
REASONS FOR DECISION The Beck Theatre offers a diverse programme including concerts, drama, comedy, dance, and children’s events. A new 15-year lease with Parkwood Leisure, with an option to extend for 10 more years, aims to preserve the theatre’s cultural identity, ensure financial sustainability without public subsidy, and boost community engagement. As part of the agreement, parking charges will be introduced at the theatre’s car park to align with other council-operated sites, helping offset operational costs. These proposals were agreed by Cabinet in May and became the subject of formal statutory consultation.
ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS CONSIDERED AND REJECTED The Cabinet Member could have determined not to introduce the parking charges.   The Council will now complete the final part of the legal order making process to implement parking charges within this car park.
