HS2 lorry movements
HS2 has put in a planning application to LBH. Among other things it includes (a very unsurprising) map of lorry access to Moorhall Road and Harvil Road work sites.

The dashed line shows the routes (best to see it full-size in the third of the plans submitted) (you’ll still need to expand it to read the explanation underneath.) It’s the obvious circular route from Denham roundabout along the A40 to the A412 then onto Moorhall Road or up to Swakeleys roundabout onto Swakeleys Road then Harvil Road.
Ruislip Against HS2 says LBH is running a consultation on this – I can’t find it. I’ll let you know when and if I do.
Update And here it is: https://planning.hillingdon.gov.uk/OcellaWeb/planningDetails?reference=74320%2FAPP%2F2018%2F3986&from=planningSearch

This year’s URC Christmas Fayre will be held on Saturday 17th November from 10am to 2pm. Admission 50p (free for under 12s).
The stalls will include Christmas gifts, decorations and cakes along with china, glass and small quality bric-a-brac, jewellery, toys and boxed games, DVDs and CDs and quality books. There will be plenty of activities for the children, with Father Christmas arriving at 11, along with the popular 101 Surprises tombola [every ticket a winner!] and the grand draw at 1.30 with top prizes of £150 and £50 cash, kindly donated by Coopers Estate Agents. Last but not least there will be hot food and other refreshments to help keep you going. If you are able to donate anything for the stalls please bring it to the church between 2pm and 7pm on Friday 16th November or ring Richard Piper on 01895 634348 for collection. Thank you for that in advance and hope to see you at the Fayre!

More traffic issues: Park Road this time
Just to add to the joy of trying to get around in Ickenham we have been informed of the following:
Ref: the southbound lane closure of Park Road Uxbridge to facilitate the St Andrews redevelopment, I would like to inform you that due to major complications work will continue until the 9th December.
This means not only will the original estimated 4 week time frame over run considerably, there will now be a requirement to introduce a north bound closure of Park Road along with the current southbound lane closure.
The north bound closure will be installed in and around the end of next week 15th/16th November depending on progress.
The impact of these works will have a major impact on current traffic flows, however these are essential works that must be done to ensure the ongoing progress of the St Andrews redevelopment.
Please be assured we are doing everything within our power to ensure everything is being done to expedite these works and daily inspections will continue until works are completed.
This will no doubt have a knock on effect on all routes in Ickenham as drivers try to find alternative routes of which there are of course none
Breakspear Road South to be closed for another week
Breakspear Road South is to be closed until November 16th. Grrr.
Avoid Ruislip duck pond area Sunday 10:30 to 11:30
In order to faciliate the service at the war memorial by the duck pond and the parade down the High Street, there will be road closures in the area around the roundabout at the junction of Bury St, Eastcote Rd and Ruislip High St from 10:30 to 11:30.
Given that this is a signed diversion route for traffic unable to use BRS It will probably be best to avoid the area completely during these hours on Sunday.
How to join Online Watch Link (OWL)
Many of you receive regular Neighbourhood Watch Newsletters. And about 8,000 Hillingdon Residents have joined the associated Online Watch Link (OWL). This is a community-focused website that keeps its members up to date on local crime and security measures.
To join, simply visit www.owl.co.uk and provide some basic details. It probably goes without saying, that the site is secure.
As a general rule, always report crime in Ickenham to the Police (999 if in progress, 101 otherwise) then email Kevin Mepham, Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator for Ickenham Ward at ickenhamnhw@gmail.com
Breakspear Road South closure
This popped up on Facebook this morning:

Upcoming tube strikes
Just seen this on the Beeb:
RMT union members on the Piccadilly Line will launch a 48-hour walkout from 12:00 BST on Wednesday and a five-hour strike from 20:30 on Friday.
Transport for London (TfL) warned there would be little or no service, including on the Night Tube on Friday.
