HS2 concrete pour revision
| Due to the inclement weather recently, the contractors are behind schedule and need to reschedule concrete pouring. The good news is that as the concrete mix is coming from skip Lane they can now use their haul road one way from Harvil to west Ruislip The empty hgvs will exit west Ruislip and go back via Ickenham village. Their tunnel boring appears also to be late..now commencing 31 May. They have obviously finalised thir plans for dumping of spoil..they plan an open day on March 7 for residents to show the plans. |
HS2 West Ruislip works update
| FROM HS2 What we are doing We notified you recently that we would be carrying out excavation works overnight and continuous concrete pours at our West Ruislip site over the weekend from 8 November 2021 to 13 February 2022. However, these works have now been rescheduled and will start on 21 February 2022 to prepare the base of the railway tunnels near West Ruislip station. We will be excavating to prepare the area for the launch of the Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) and the creation of the portal area. The earth excavated from this area will be stored temporarily at the golf course driving range. The stockpiled earth will then be used to landscape the area around the tunnels and the tunnel entrances once the construction works have been completed. In the TBM storage area we will be building a tent to minimise noise from the initial welding works required for the construction of the cutter head. There will be one further occasion where fifty hours of continuous cement pour is required. This will be used to build the two base slabs for the portal structure and has to be continuous so that there is no adverse effect on the structural integrity of the building. This map shows the area of activity: https://www.hs2.org.uk/work-items/update-on-night-works-at-west-ruislip-3/ Programme: From 21 February to 31 March 2022 – Monday to Friday 8am-6pm and 6pm-4am – Excavation of area and placement on temporary storage area Weekend of 11, 12 and 13 March 2022 – 50 hours continuous from 6pm on a Friday to 8pm on the Sunday – Continuous cement pour Work mitigation We will: • Continue to monitor sound levels both inside and outside our site compound • Carry out attended monitoring for the first two weeks to ensure noise and vibration levels are within our required limits • Carry out steel fixing works only at the very bottom of the excavation, 11 meters below ground level • Use acoustic covers and blankets where possible • Limit cutting and welding to daytime hours (8am to 6pm) • Use dust mist cannons around the working areas • Face lighting away from residential properties. We would like to apologise in advance for the disruption or inconvenience this may cause. Every effort is being taken to ensure that these works are carried out in the least impactful way. We will ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum. |

Sheet piling works near Harvil Road. Duration of works 7th February 2022 – 31st March 2022
Construction of platforms for piling and sheet piling works Last year we began construction of the Colne Valley Viaduct. To build the 45 piers over land and 11 piers over the lakes we have been undertaking a programme of rotary, vibratory and sheet piling to create strong pier foundations and railway embankments at both ends of the viaduct. In February 2022 we will start earthworks and piling to build the permanent structure which will form the south embankment of the viaduct next to Harvil Road, Hillingdon. When the south embankment is complete it will carry train lines to and from the Colne Valley Viaduct and the Copthall Tunnel approach, via a realigned section of Harvil Road. How may this affect you We will be using a crane and piling rig to vibrate and hammer sheet piles into the ground to create retaining walls around the site of the south embankment and ground piers. These works will start from 7 th February and last until late March 2022. We will only pile in core working hours, from 8am to 6pm Mondays to Fridays, and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays. If you live near the works site, it is likely that the piling activity will produce increased noise which you may hear in your property
Duration of works
7th February 2022 – 31st March 2022 8am to 6pm, Mondays to Fridays, 8am to 1pm on Saturdays Work dates may be subject to change. We will do our best to keep residents updated with any changes What to expect Intermittent noise and vibration from works site during core working hours Some other less noisy works will also take place outside of these hours Plant and machinery visible from Harvil Road and Skip Lane What we will do Monitor noisy works and reduce impacts on local residents wherever possible.

HS2 survey may involve Aylsham Drive
Estimated Start Date
28/01/2022
Estimated End Date
28/01/2022
From HS2
We wrote to you in April 2021 to let you know that we would be carrying out sewer investigations near Blenheim Crescent. We need to re-visit this location to carry out additional works that will take place on 28 January 2022. The location of these works is shown on the map overleaf.
We will investigate the condition of the sewer system using a CCTV camera mounted on a small robot. Should we find a blockage, we may need to flush the drainage system using a high-pressure water jet to carry out the investigation.
It may not be possible to carry out the investigation in the works area shown on the map because of proximity to railway lines. As an alternative, we will be able to undertake the investigation via a manhole located nearby just off Aylsham Drive via the car park (see map). https://www.hs2.org.uk/work-items/notice-of-utility-surveys-near-blenheim-crescent-3/
How the surveys might affect you
You may see people working along the railway tracks. We may need to carry out the works via the manhole in the open space next to 259-329 Aylsham Drive. If this is the case, there will be operatives carrying out the survey at this location. Your utility services will not be affected.
