More Bargains at the URC!

From the URC

We got our fundraising year off to a great start at the end of April, with a wonderful attendance at the Spring Forecourt Sale and proceeds of almost £800 to the church and this year’s charities [Samaritans and CLICK Rukiga].

Now we are going to help kick start the Festival with a variety of stalls accompanied by a coffee morning with homemade cakes. The event on Saturday 11th June will run from 10am to 12 Noon, admission is FREE and you will be able to choose from plants, bric-brac, books, collectables including stamps, cigarette card and postcards, and anything else that comes in, but not clothes or shoes.

If you have items to donate please bring them to the church between 2pm and 6pm on Friday 10th June or ring Richard Piper on 01895 634348 for collection. This is also the number for any enquiries or offers of help.

The response was great last time in terms of both donations and sales so let’s try to do even better!

18 June Harvil Road lane closure is no more

From HS2 (didn’t know they cared)

UPDATE:
We wrote to you recently to let you know that there would be a short lane closure on Harvil Road on Saturday 18 June 2022. The lane closure was required to allow for remedial works from Harvil Road from the junction of Skip Lane, down to our Gate1 site entrance.

Due to the Ickenham Festival taking place on the same weekend, we have delayed these works and will update you as soon as we have a rescheduled date.

TfL notice of strike action

From TfL

Between Friday 3 June and Sunday 10 July, RMT strike action will be taking place across various London Underground stations. Between these dates, journeys may be impacted by short notice station closures, although we are doing everything we can to keep stations open.

On Monday 6 June, severe disruption across the network is expected from start of service until 08:00 on Tuesday morning, with many stations, especially those in the centre, closed.

Train services will still run but will only be stopping at stations that are open, which could change throughout the day due to staffing levels.

You are advised to avoid travelling on Monday 6 June. If travel on Monday 6 June cannot be avoided, please travel after 08:00 and complete journeys by 18:00. On Tuesday 7 June, some stations may still be closed at the beginning of the day and you are advised to travel after 08:00.

Further details can be found on our website

We are doing everything we can to minimise the impact, but please allow more time for your journey, check before you travel or use TfL Go to plan your journey.

Jubilee week Refuse Collections

from LBH
Spring Holiday and Platinum Jubilee collection dates
Thanks to council investment and our committed crews, we are pleased to announce that there will be no change to your normal waste and recycling collection days on the Spring and Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Bank Holidays, as we will be working on Thursday 2 and Friday 3 June.
Please leave your rubbish out for collection by 6am, near your front gate, but not on the pavement. Separate arrangements are in place for flats and business premises.

HS2 activity over Jubilee holiday

FROM HS2
We wanted to let you know that these works will continue throughout the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee week. We will be carrying out works at our site compounds at:

Copthall tunnel site and Northern Sustainable Placement area:
From 2 to 4 June 2022, between 8am and 5pm work will be ongoing at our sites on Harvil Road and Newyears Green Lane. We will be carrying out steel fixing work, excavation and moving material. The conveyor system will be in operation during this time.

West Ruislip portal site:
24/7 assembly works for the tunnel boring machine will continue. These works will include steel fixing and a concrete pour, lifting operations and starting the TBM assembly in the launch chamber area.

The works we will carry out on these dates will be limited to the activities mentioned above and are confined within our sites.

We would like to apologise in advance for working over the bank holiday period and for any inconvenience this may cause. Every effort is being taken to ensure that these works are carried out in the least impactful way.

We will ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum.
