Closure of Breakspear Road South postponed

The proposed four day closure of Breakspear Road South, planned during week commencing Monday 15 April has been postponed. We know that residents were notified about this planned closure last week and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The work planned during this closure will now take place later in the year and further information will be available nearer the time. Residents will be notified in advance by post and on this Commonplace site.

New Year’s Green Lane closure: April 13/14

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984-SECTION 14
NEWYEARS GREEN LANE HAREFIELD
EMERGENCY TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
SATURDAY 13TH AND SUNDAY 14TH APRIL 2019
The Council of the London Borough of Hillingdon hereby gives notice that to enable essential vegetation works and so as not to endanger the public; Newyears Green Lane, Harefield will be closed from the Junction of Harvil Road to the Junction of Breakspear Road South.
Diversions will be in place via: Harvil Road, Swakeleys Road, Breakspear Road South and Vice Versa.
Nothing in the Order shall apply to prevent vehicular access to premises on or adjacent to the prohibited length of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.
The closures will apply between 07:00am Saturday 13th April 2019 until 19:00pm Sunday 14th April 2019, to such extent as is indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002.
The closure will remain in force until the works are complete; this is expected to be for 2 days.

Help beautify the library garden?

We have received the following from the Library Team

As you may be aware, last October, a team of volunteers which included local school children, redesigned and is now in the process of planting up the Library Garden . We met again this week for a Natter and Potter tidying session. These sessions are open to all residents to come along and make their contribution mix in, chat and enjoy a cup of tea with the other gardening workers.  The Library garden is accessible to library users.

We would like to take this opportunity to see if you or any  group you are associated with would like to join forces to take this slightly further and make-over the front beds outside the library in Ickenham and to see if any of your members could assist in the transformation, would like to create a bedding design, offer plants and could offer time for maintenance.

The Library manager – Barbara Ezra – has been given the provisional go-ahead from the council on condition that residents can offer this information and back up going forward.

There are various schemes that this could head towards including Britain in Bloom but Barbara and I have our eyes set on opening the main Library Garden for the Festival week in 2020 and with a view to having transformed the front bed outside the car park by that time too.
