Some HS2 information comes up in Tweets (over on the right of our web pages), some in news updates (here), some in the HS2 page on this site. We’re going to try and do a monthly mop up which may replicate some of the things you already know. Better this than leave things out.

Here goes:

On 2^nd November HS2 announced the five shortlisted bidders which will be invited to tender for the £2.75 billion contract covering the design, build and maintenance of at least 54 trains which will come into service from 2026. The five (non-British parent) companies are: Alstom Transport; Bombardier Transportation UK Ltd; Hitachi Rail Europe; Patentes Talgo S.L.U and Siemens PLC.
