Festive fun at the URC
The URC will be making a full contribution to Festive Community Night on Friday 9th December, with a seasonal display in the church, stalls of Christmas decorations and presents, a CLICK Rukiga stand, hot drinks and mince pies in the Oasis coffee shop and a raffle.
There will also be books, mainly our high-end stock and ones with a local or Middlesex connection, such as Morris Hughes’ The Story of Ickenham, which is hard to find these days.
We will be there from 6pm to 9pm and again on Saturday 10th from 10am to 12 Noon for a Coffee Morning with homemade cakes, and the church and the stalls open again.
Admission will be free throughout.
If you have items to donate please bring them to the church on the Friday afternoon between 2pm and 6pm or ring Richard Piper on 01895 634348 for collection.
We look forward to seeing you!

Proposed closure of surgery
We are sure you are aware of the issues with St Martin’s Ickenham surgery as, according to our informant, “It rarely seems to be open with daily closure notices posted on the door.”
We have been informed that some registered patients received information by text on 2nd Dec of two consutation meetings on the proposed closure of this surgery. Apparently, not all patients have received this notification.
The details are as follows:
Thursday 8 Dec 22 consultation meeting is in St Giles Church Hall 10:30am to 11:30am.
Saturday’s is on 10 Dec 22 in the Ickenham Village Hall (33 Swakeley’s Road) also 10:30am to 11:30am.
The PPG Chairman and Deputy Chairman will attend both meetings.
If you have any more information please let us know and circulate this as far as possible as we cannot afford to lose a GP sugery from the village.
Calibration flights tonight
| FROM RAF NORTHOLT Note: This evening the Air Traffic instrument approaches will be undergoing calibration. To that end a light aircraft will be conducting several flights over the airfield up until 0115. While within hours it may be deemed unusual activity and more persistent than our normal transient visitors. |
