Waste collection, parking and other LBH Coronavirus stuff

Coronavirus links from Hillingdon Council

Advice page at: www.hillingdon.gov.uk/article/3745/Latest-advice-on-coronavirus

Links to all sorts of help pages including advice about household and garden waste and recycling and the introduction of free parking.

Here are some extracts:

Parkingwww.hillingdon.gov.uk/article/4465/Parking-charges-and-permits

To support our residents, we have decided to introduce a free emergency parking permit that residents can obtain during this period which allows them to park in the parking management scheme where they live. This is to reflect the higher than normal number of residents’ vehicles that are being parked on residential streets.

We have also removed charges and time limits from all council public car parks and pay and display bays to provide additional parking capacity for residents and key workers.

Rubbish and recycling www.hillingdon.gov.uk/coronavirus-rubbish-and-recycling

We are currently operating all services as normal; however, as we prioritise general waste and dry mixed recycling collections, your weekly garden waste service may be affected.

We will continue to collect your food waste on your normal collection day, even if we are unable to collect your garden waste.

If your garden waste is not collected, please leave your bags at the edge of your property and we will collect them as soon as possible.

There’s much more information on all three pages. Well worth a visit.

Safer Neighbourhood Teams and COVID19: Update

Community Engagements

Further to our message earlier today that it was business as usual, a decision has been made to cancel all our advertised crime prevention stalls, and contact sessions. This decision has been made with the safety of all in mind, and to follow in line with the Government guidance on social interaction. That said we will still be on the streets, and will continue to Police your community to the best of our ability.

Stay safe

Safer Neighbourhood Teams and COVID19

Business as usual for ALL Safer Neighbourhood Teams

This notice is just to inform residents the Safer Neighbourhood Teams will continue working and operating as usual.  All advertised Drop In Surgeries, Crime Prevention Stands will continue at present, you will be notified of any changes.

In light of COVID19 precautions will be engaged during all community engagements.  We are not asking residents to come out especially to speak to us.  There are many ways you can make contact with your Safer Neighbourhood Teams.    If you click on the link below it will take you directly to the Met Police web site.

28th March URC Jumble Sale cancelled

URC Spring Jumble Sale OFF!

The sale scheduled for Saturday 28th March has been cancelled, for reasons that will be obvious.  Please do not bring donations for sale to the church on 27th March as previously requested but if possible keep them until we are able to resume our programme.  However, we have a limited amount of storage space, so if you have quality items that you are not able to keep please ring Richard Piper on 01895 634348 for possible collection.  Any shortfall in revenue that we have will not only be detrimental to the work of the church but also our external charities for the year: End Youth Homelessness, Dementia UK, Parkinson’s UK and Toybox.  Thank you for your continuing support!

This year’s Festival cancelled

This has been passed to me by Ickenham Residents’ Association:

The Ickenham Festival Team met today and we have made the decision to cancel this year’s Ickenham Festival (which was to be 6th June – 14th June 2020).

This is due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

This decision has not been taken lightly, but we feel that the health of exhibitors, volunteers and the general public must come first.

The Government has prohibited large scale events, both indoor and outdoor.

If we now proceed, we feel that we could incur substantial losses that could jeopardise future Festival events.

It is also now impossible for the various Ickenham groups (Churches, School, Voluntary organisations etc.) to plan and commit to a June event.

Our business supporters have come under severe pressure, as their customer numbers and staff are reduced.

We intend to work towards the next Ickenham Festival and we appreciate all the support and help that we have received to date.

Any payments made to Ickenham Festival 2020 for pitches etc. will be refunded.

Starting in Autumn 2020 we will re-launch our series of traditional and new events to raise funds toward that aim.
