From the Council:
Good afternoon,
We are considering changing the current Council Tax Reduction Scheme from April 2020 and replacing it with a Council Tax Reduction Banding scheme.
Certain groups, such as pensioners, will not be affected by the changes. Working age persons currently in receipt of Council Tax Reduction may be affected by the proposed changes.
We have been working on designing a local scheme and are now carrying out a public consultation on our draft proposals. To see the details of the proposed changes and have your say about them, please complete this survey by midnight on 3 November 2019.
For more details on:
Please visit our website: https://hillingdon.gov.uk/consultation or contact the Customer Engagement Team on 01895 277038 or at customerengagement@hillingdon.gov.uk
We would like to hear from as many people as possible so can you please help to publicise the consultation by sharing the information at your various meetings and/or any other medium you use to communicate with local residents.
Kind regards
—

Following the tragic events of Tuesday and the murder that took place on Hillingdon Station, Rev Reg Craig of Hillingdon Park Baptist Church has agreed with the Station Customer Service Manager to have a prayer vigil tomorrow evening (Thursday) at 6pm. This will happen outside the main entrance. The purpose of this event is for us to show solidarity as a community of all faiths and none and to stand together against the violence on our streets. It is not political.
You are invited to attend.

Many of you attend Hillingdon medical practices. Four of them are grouping together and you are invited to the launch. Here’s the main descriptive information:

If you are interested please follow the instructions below:

Do you love Ickenham and would like to help oil the wheels of the Residents’ Association?
We are looking for someone to take on the role of Minutes Secretary to take the minutes of the monthly meetings and the AGM.
Are you interested or do you know anyone who might be? Like all the Committee posts, it is voluntary and you can become involved in other Committee work as much or as little as you like.
The Committee is non-political and it would help if you were too, although we’re not averse to having members who are passionate about local issues.
Please contact June Reyner, our General Secretary, at ickenhamresidents@hotmail.com in the first instance.
We look forward to hearing from you.

Keep that holiday feeling going at the URC!
Yes, even when the holidays are over and most people are back at work or school there’s the Late Summer Forecourt Sale at the URC to look forward to! It’s on Saturday 7th September from 10am to 12 Noon, admission is free and there will be a range of stalls including plants, bric-a-brac, boxed games, DVDs/CDs etc and our full range of books priced from 50p to £5.
As a break from browsing and buying there will be coffee, tea and lovely homemade cakes as well. Please get there if you can, and if you have items to donate bring them to the church between 3pm and 7pm on Friday 6th or ring Richard Piper on 01895 634348 for collection.
Should the sun stop shining most things will be inside, but it has been shining on us in another sense as we are currently running over £500 ahead of where we were at this time last year, so many thanks from us and “our” good causes for all the support.
Last but not least, make sure that you note the date of 5th October for our Autumn jumble sale. The one earlier in the year raised a four figure sum and represented a new record for us and it would be nice to do it again!
