West Ruislip concrete breaking trials

From HS2:

At the West Ruislip site, we will be carrying out a 5-day trial of a machine that breaks down concrete into smaller reusable parts.

If this trial is successful, it will mean that the number of lorry movements required to transport concrete to and from site will be reduced and will remove a significant number of lorries from local roads.

U46 Footpath Diversion

from HS2

The U46 footpath diversion

We are progressing to a stage in our works where we will be diverting a number of footpaths. These works will facilitate the completion of the internal haul road and help to keep as many vehicles off local roads as possible. Our first diversion is the U46 footpath, the short footpath that runs from the Celandine Way to Breakspear Road South near Oak Farm. The surface of U43 has been improved and extended and it currently progresses south behind the trees and emerges at a marked crossing point in Breakspear Road South. Please see map on link below.

September URC Jumble Sale

From URC:

We were overwhelmed by the response to our July sale, which raised over £590 despite only featuring plants and the quality books and the weather being rather Wimbledon.  It was lovely to see so many old friends again after a long gap and they seemed really happy to be back.  So, we’re going to do it again on Saturday 4th September [10am to 12 Noon, admission free] with a coffee morning and plant stall, lots more books [and stamps and postcards] plus bric-a-brac and toys and games.  If you have things to donate please bring them to the church on Friday 3rd September between 3pm and 7pm or ring Richard Piper on 01895 634348 for collection.  We could also do with some more helpers to join our happy team so if you think you could spare an hour or two please ring the same number for details.  Whether helping or visiting you will be supporting a range of worthwhile charities as well as the work of our church

Ickenham Road and High Road works 6 to 20 July 2021

From HS2

Work item details

What we are doing
From 6 to 20 July 2021, we will be carrying out ground investigation along Ickenham Road and High Road near the West Ruislip train station, in the area shown on the map link below. This will help to inform our design decisions in the area. The ground investigation will involve the use of scanning equipment to identify utilities in the area. We will be excavating trial holes to take measurements and ground samples.

How the surveys might affect you
Due to the location of the utility surveys, footpath diversion will be in place and the cycle path will be closed for the duration of these activities. This is to ensure that the surveys can be carried out safely.
There will be no disruption to your utility services.

Newyears Green Lane & West Ruislip works

from HS2

Newyears Green Lane
We wrote to you recently to advise you that we would be carrying out ecological surveys on 17 May and 1 June along Newyears Green Lane. Due to poor weather conditions, we were unable to complete the surveys. We therefore require additional time to complete these works, which will now be completed on 1 and 14 June 2021. A road closure will be required between 8pm and 5am to ensure these works can be carried out safely.

West Ruislip
We will be carrying out works over one weekend (19 & 20 June 2021) in the bell mouth where vehicles access the site from Ickenham High Road. We are connecting a foul sewer from site to a chamber that sits underneath the centre of the junction.

Once connected the trench will be backfilled and the work area reinstated. We will carry out the main cut into the concrete within normal working hours on the Friday 18 June, to minimise noise on the weekend

Duration of works
The weekend of 19 and 20 June 2021
From 8am to 6pm

What to expect
An excavator and dumper trucks will be required to create the trench for the sewer

What we will do
Maintain access along the footpath and carriageway of Ickenham High Road

Harvil Road lane closures 17 May to 30 September: Update

FROM HS2

Update:

We wrote to you in April to advise that we would be carrying out utility works from 17 May to 30 September 2021 and over two weekends. However, additional weekend working will be required.

From 17 May 2021, we will be carrying out utility surveys and utility connection along Harvil Road as part of the road realignment works. Temporary traffic management and lane closures will be required to ensure these works can be carried out safely.

We hope to reduce the duration of the lane closure by working additional weekends.
