As you may know, we publish newsletters on line as soon as the next one hits the streets. So the Spring one is now online. With AGMs, we can’t publish the minutes until they’re approved, a year later at the next AGM. I should have posted the 2016 ones in April. So, the 2016 AGM minutes are here now, with my apologies.

Residents’ Association AGM
We were delighted to see so many members packed into the Village Hall for our AGM last Friday.
We were also pleased to welcome so many of our local councillors: Ray Puddifoot; David Simmonds; and John Hensley from Ickenham Ward, as well as Philip Corthorne and Brian Crowe from West Ruislip ward. We also welcomed our MP Nick Hurd and Squadron Leader James Tenniswood from RAF Northolt.
The formal business proceeded smoothly and the Committee members were duly re-elected for another year’s term of office plus the two co-opted members, Beryl Upton (HS2) and Simon Taylor (Traffic).
Ray Puddifoot spoke about the Council’s opposition to the third runway and its work to get agreement on traffic etc. from HS2.
Sqdr Ldr Tenniswood updated us on the planned improvements to the runway and arrester beds. He stressed the strategic importance of RAF Northolt. He also explained NORFEST and invited local organisations to take stands on the day.
Questions from the floor were mainly about HS2 and pollution. R Puddifoot stated that LBH would install monitors and keep a close eye on the results
The meeting closed with the traditional light refreshments. Our thanks to the ‘kitchen team’ led by Barbara Buckle and to Vic Silk and David John for keeping the drinks flowing.
The Winter newsletter is now online
As soon as a new newsletter is published for Residents’ Association members, we add the previous issue to the website. The Winter one has just been added.
If you would like a timely printed version to drop through your door, please join the Association here – it’s only £2 per year.
Diary Date: AGM 21 April 8pm
Members of the Association will be welcome to attend the AGM on 21st April, 8pm in the Village Hall. Please bring your ‘Ickenham Calling…..’ newsletter as ID (and the enclosed AGM minutes). The hall capacity is 200 and we usually get very close to it, so don’t come late – you may not get in.
We look forward to meeting you there.

Chairman’s review of 2015-6
As part of the AGM, the Chairman reviews the Association’s activities during the preceding year. She also does a lot of other things like calling for votes on this and that and introducing the guest speakers. While much of this has to await the members’ approval next year, we thought it would be a good idea to see the body of her presentation here.
Minutes of the 2015 AGM available now
Each year we have to get the previous year’s minutes approved before we can upload them to the website. This happened last night. We should have added the 140+ members of the Association to the list of attendees. Apologies, and thanks to John Coombe for reminding us.
2016 AGM
Last night’s AGM was a splendid affair, despite the rain. Over 140 people in the room. Speakers included our MP, Nick Hurd, and LBH council leader, Ray Puddifoot. The proceedings were handled beautifully by Jill Dalton.

We were rather taken with this snap of a Mayor (knitted by Beryl Upton) and the deputy mayor waiting for the proceedings to begin. John Hensley (pictured) will become our Mayor in three weeks time.
We will shortly be publishing (here) Jill Dalton’s report of the year. Watch this space.
Our sincere thanks to all the Association members who came along. We hope you found the event useful and enjoyable.
Winter 2015 Newsletter added to archive
As each newsletter is published and delivered to Association members by our wonderful street stewards, we upload the previous one to the website. This means that the Spring one has either arrived or will drop through your letter box soon.
You can find the Winter 2015 one here.
