Greenway/High Road works

The Greenway – Sewer Decommissioning 13/05 to 17/05
Barhale working on behalf of Thames Water are returning to The Greenway for the final time to complete the decommissioning of the Sewer by filling it with concrete. The works will take place between Saturday 13/05 and Wednesday 17/05 and the Traffic Management will entail narrowing the width of the carriageway around the working area outside House Number 43 with Give Way Signage in place, but traffic flow will be maintained throughout the works.

Thames Water update
We are sorry for the delay in completing our work in the manhole on The Greenway. Our final piece of work outside no 43 will now start on Saturday 13 May, when we will put traffic management in place. The vehicle carrying concrete will again need to reverse up part of the road and will have two banksmen directing it at all times, it will give way to other vehicles. We will also be using a pump and be pouring more concrete into the manhole, the same as we did in March.

On Monday 15 and Tuesday 16 May, we will be carrying out the reinstatement of the area. We will be onsite between Saturday 13 May to Wednesday 17 May
Working hours Saturday 8am – 1pm Monday to Wednesday, 8am to 5.30pm

The road will remain open at all times, but as before it will be reduced to one lane for a short distance– give way signs will be in place. On road parking will be restricted in the immediate area but residents will be able to access their driveways at all times.
Footpaths on both sides of the road will remain open.
We will complete our work on Wednesday 17 May.

Greenway Sewer – Bellmouth Removal
Barhale working on behalf of Thames Water built a Bellmouth entrance off Ickenham Road by the Soldiers Return Pub in Dec 2021 to facilitate the Greenway Sewer works.
Barhale have now submitted a Permit to LBH to remove the Bellmouth between 24/04 & 12/05. LBH have approved the Permit, and the works are ongoing and should be complete by 12/05.

During the reinstatement of the area back to what was previously in place prior to these works, a Planter that was in place on the Footway will now be replaced by a Tree (at the request of the LBH Green Spaces Team). The remaining Kerb Line will be reinstated as previous, with new paving and tarmac also being installed.

The Traffic Management in place during these works is a Partial Footway Closure & Narrowing of the Lanes of both sides of the carriageway around the working area, but 3.5 metre width is being maintained in both Lanes so there is not expected to be any impact to traffic flow in this area.

HS2 ANPR Camera Installations

From this week residents may notice some ANPR Cameras being installed at 15 locations on roads across the north of the borough as part of the HS2 Vehicle Route Compliance System being rolled out in Hillingdon. These ANPR Cameras once tested and ‘live’ will capture real-time data of HS2 lorries to make sure these vehicles are using the Approved Lorry Routes. The system will also be able to provide accurate HS2 lorry numbers at any location on the Network and it is hoped this data will help HS2 and LBH in policing lorries that are operating off-route and are non-compliant.

These Cameras will be configured to only capture data related to HS2 lorries, no other vehicle data will be captured or stored. This is part of a Network of Cameras being rolled out across those London Boroughs that have HS2 Sites and will be managed by HS2/SCS, with a Dashboard being developed to allow LBH access to the data. The system is to undergo a period of Testing and is expected to be ‘live’ around May 2023.

The Cameras are being installed at all Site entrance and exits in Hillingdon and at the following locations on the LBH Road Network:

• Moorhall Road – junction with Harvil Road
• Moorhall Road – near Truesdale Drive
• Field End Road – opposite Halfords
• Field End Road – near Esso Garage
• Victoria Road – near Old Dairy Lane junction
• Woodstock Drive – near Number 7
• Ickenham Road – near Number 48
• Long Lane – near Number 29
• Swakeleys Road – Westbound near Wallasey Crescent
• Swakeleys Road – Eastbound near Wallasey Crescent
• Station Approach/Long Drive – near Number 48
• West End Road – near McGovern Park entrance
• Breakspear Road South LP2A – near junction with Swakeleys Road
• Swakeleys Roundabout – near junction with Swakeleys Road
• Harvil Road – near junction with Highfield Drive

The Cameras will look similar to the image below, and each Lamp Column holding a Camera will have the HS2 Signage as shown below (to make it easily identifiable as to what they are there for)

HS2 adding ANPR cameras

HS2 will be installing ANPR cameras in Ickenham, Harefield and Ruislip late March and early April.

We should be getting a list of all the locations.

They will be signed as HS2 cameras but there is some nervousness that they will be seen as ULEZ. which they are not.

The reason for the cameras is that HS2 want to ensure the HGVs are not using unauthorised routes.

They commit that no records will be kept of any vehicles other than HS2.
