We will provide assistance and help but do not have the capacity within the committee to take on this role.

Waste and recycling update
New and improved recycling bag deliveries
On Tuesday 2 April, we will relaunch our automatic recycling bag delivery scheme for both clear dry mixed recycling bags and food waste caddy liners.
Existing users will need to re-register for the scheme and newcomers will need to sign up, which is quick and easy. You will be asked how many people live in your property and how many bags of recycling you produce in a typical week so your subscription can be tailored to the number of bags you need.
You will receive your bags in one delivery for the year as part of the new scheme, with the first deliveries beginning in June.
Re-register or sign up at least one month ahead of your scheduled delivery month.
Easter collection changes
To minimise disruption to waste and recycling collections during the Easter period, we will be working on Saturday 30 March and Saturday 6 April.
All other collections will be one day later than normal.

Repair and Reuse Day
Our next Repair and Reuse Day takes place on Saturday 23 March at The Great Barn, Manor Farm, Ruislip from 10am to 2pm.
Learn tips and tricks for how to reduce your household waste by fixing or reusing items you might otherwise have thrown away.
Our recycling team will be on hand to offer advice, along with the council’s usual partner organisations, TRAID, The Restart Party, Dr Bike, Learn Hillingdon and Freegle.
Are you recycling right?
We’re working hard to improve the borough’s recycling rates and a key element of this is reducing contamination.
Contamination happens when an item which can’t be recycled is placed in with your recycling. This applies not only to items we don’t recycle, but items we can’t recycle like wet cardboard, or dirty food containers.
Just one wrong item can prevent an entire bag of waste from being recycled, so check out our helpful online guide to see what you can and can’t place in your dry mixed recycling.
Don’t forget to remove your batteries
We’ve extended our recycling facilities for small electricals to all of our libraries and they’re being well used, thank you.
Take unwanted small electricals, such as hair-dryers, mobile phones, cables, toasters and radios and pop them in the bright pink wheelie bins you’ll find in each branch.
Please ensure you remove any internal batteries before dropping them off and please don’t put loose batteries in either. Any batteries that go into the recycling process risk causing fires in our facilities.
Weekend travel
The M25 will be closed between J10 – J11 (Chertsey – Wisley) from 9pm Friday to 6am Monday for the removal of (a) bridge.
CIRCLE LINE: Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 March, no service between Hammersmith and Tower Hill. Trains will run between Edgware Road and Barking (via Victoria)
HAMMERSMITH & CITY LINE: Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 March, no service between Paddington and Barking.

More lorries
TBM Segment Delivery by Lorry to West Ruislip
LBH has agreed that SCS can trial these deliveries by road for another month during March, with SCS will carrying out Engagement with residents to advise of the additional lorries delivering the Segments.
LBH will continue to review the situation before committing to allow this to be extended until around August 2024 (which is the current requested date). LBH did question the viability of bringing the lorries in along Swakeleys Road, Ickenham Road into the West Ruislip Portal, but was advised that due to maintenance works due to take place on the internal Haul Roads it would not be feasible at the outset to route the lorries via either Harvil Rd Gate 2 or Breakspear Rd South (and along the Haul Roads to the Portal).
Please note that there will be no additional lorries over the agreed 550 lorry movements per day around Swakeleys Roundabout with these additional Segment deliveries built into that daily limit. Over the last 3 months or so there has been a noticeable drop off in the amount of HS2 lorries delivering to the HS2 Sites in Hillingdon, so these deliveries should not cause any additional impact to our Road Network in the north of the borough.
Planning updates to 27-2-2024
HS2 piling works
| FROM HS2 We’re writing to let you know about some planned works that we will be carrying out in your area. From 11 March to 30 June 2024, we will be carrying out piling works at our Gate 2 site, in the area west of Breakspear Road South and north of the Chiltern Railways Line. These works are part of the construction of the eastern portal of the Copthall Tunnel. We do not expect any noise or vibration to disturbance nearby residents. Monitoring will be in place throughout these works. We will use water sprays to reduce dust generated by construction activities. Ickenham Pump Restoration

An update on the pump building restoration works. The proposed work has been scheduled for 4th March, and we anticipate to complete this within four weeks.
New overground line names
London Overground line naming Transport for London   We’re naming the London Overground lines to make the network easier to navigate and reflect the Capital’s diverse history. We aim to make the changes by the end of 2024. Each of the 6 routes that make up the London Overground will be given a new name and its own colour. Giving each of the 6 London Overground routes an individual line colour lets us improve the way our customers experience our network. It also gives each line their own name and identity. Mini ramps have arrived Now available in 47 step-free Tube stations Following a successful trial of a new mini ramp at eight step-free stations on the Jubilee line in 2023, we are launching mini ramps at 47 step-free Tube stations today (Thursday 15 February). Mini ramps were developed following some customers telling us the step/gap on step-free to train platforms is a barrier to them being able to get on and off Tube trains confidently. Mini ramps cover the small remaining step/gap on step-free to train platforms, and make it easier for customers to get on and off the train. In particular, they offer people who use mobility aids with small or swivel wheels additional comfort and reassurance. If you would like to use a mini ramp, please ask for help from staff, or press the information button on a help point. Quick and easy to use, our staff are trained to use mini ramps and will be happy to lay one down for you.
