The Greenway works

from HS2

We’re writing to update you about Thames Water works on The Greenway.

We are sorry for the delay in completing our work in the manhole on The Greenway.

Our final piece of work outside no 43 will now start on Saturday 13 May, when we will put traffic management in place. The vehicle carrying concrete will again need to reverse up part of the road and will have two banksmen directing it at all times, it will give way to other vehicles. We will also be using a pump and be pouring more concrete into the manhole, the same as we did in March.

On Monday 15 and Tuesday 16 May, we will be carrying out the reinstatement of the area. We will complete our work on Wednesday 17 May. The road will remain open at all times, but as before it will be reduced to one lane for a short distance– give way signs will be in place. On road parking will be restricted in the immediate area but residents will be able to access their driveways at all times. Footpaths on both sides of the road will remain open.

Government to text you April 23rd 3pm

The test alert, which will take place at 3pm on Sunday 23 April, will see people receive a message on the home screen of their mobile phone, along with a sound and vibration for up to ten seconds. The message will say:

This is a test of Emergency Alerts, a new UK government service that will warn you if there’s a life-threatening emergency nearby.

In a real emergency, follow the instructions in the alert to keep yourself and others safe.
