Road works Ickenham Road
We have been informed of Major works to supply HV power lines to the HS2 site stationed in Ruislip Golf Course. Works will commence 4th June 2020 for approx 12 weeks along Ickenham Road between Ruislip Golf Club and High Street Ruislip.
Given the traffic sensitivity of Ickenham road and traffic management required to accommodate these works, it is expected that these works will cause considerable disruption to Hillingdons road network.
In light of the above, these types of work would normally have been negotiated to be normally done during the school summer holidays however, given the extent (900meters), estimated duration and traffic management involved, it was deemed better to commence these works prior to the school summer holidays when traffic is still considerably less given the current climate surrounding Covid – 19, rather than waiting until School summer holidays when works would have extended well into September when the likelihood of local businesses and work streams resume back to normal.
Works will be done in two phases:
Phase one: Ickenham Road between Sharps Lane roundabout to High Street Ruislip.
Traffic management involved to accommodate these works will involve an eastbound closure of Ickenham road between Sharps Lane roundabout and High Street Ruislip, A hard closure of Sharps Lane at its junction with Ickenham Road along with 4 way temp lights at its roundabout of Wood Lane, Kingsend, & Ickenham Road.
Full diversions are in place to accommodate both closures.
Phase two – Ickenham Road between Sharps Lane and the entrance to Ruislip Golf course.
Traffic management will involve 2/3 way temp traffic lights.
Given the nature and sensitivity of Ickenham road these works will be monitored daily. HS2/UKPN have also been instructed to work seven days a week to expedite progress.

We are working closely with our construction partners to review the works on all our construction sites in line with Government and Public Health England (PHE) advice on dealing with Covid-19. The Government’s current Covid-19 strategy makes clear that construction activity can continue as long as it complies with this guidance, which you can see by clicking here.
The below works are going ahead as our contractors are confident that they can operate in line with PHE and industry guidance, protecting our staff and the communities in which they are working.
Work on A412 and Moorhall Road
HS2 will be restarting a range of works just outside the London Borough of Hillingdon, including a temporary off-peak lane closure on the A412, near the Denham Water-Ski Club entrance. This is to allow for site set-up, archaeological and ecological works to take place including around Broadwater Lake. We will also be undertaking some work along Moorhall Road.
Dews Lane and Harvil Road area
Works have restarted at the compound to the west of Harvil Road and South of Dews Lane.
HS2 Land from Ruislip Golf Course to Breakspear Road South and Harvil Road
The U42 Bridleway diversion at Breakspear Road South is now open for public use.
Overnight works on the Chiltern lines in South Ruislip
We will be placing some monitoring equipment along the Chiltern Line and Central Line railways to ensure our construction does not impact on the lines. As all the equipment is self-powered there will be no need for any wires or cables to be placed in the area.
Works will comply with all safety rules with regard to working within the rail and tube environment. This being the case the work will take place from 00:01 to 08:00 in the early morning of Sunday 3 May. We will only use hand tools to reduce any noise impact.
HS2 Updates galore

We are continuing to work closely with our construction partners to review the works on our construction sites in line with Government and Public Health England (PHE) advice on dealing with COVID-19. The Government’s current COVID-19 strategy makes clear that construction activity should continue as long as it complies with this guidance.
The below works are going ahead as our contractors are confident that they can operate in line with PHE and industry guidance, protecting our staff and the communities in which they are working.

Dews Lane and Harvil Road area

Update on Completion of Work at Ruislip Rugby Club
We wish to update you on the current position with regards to the fields at Ruislip Rugby Club. Whilst the investigatory works within the fields have finished, we faced particularly difficult conditions due to the amount of rain that fell throughout January and February, water-logging the soil.
While we used matting to protect the fields as much as we could, some ruts occurred due to the movement of the vehicles and indeed the removal of the matting itself. We had been waiting for the ground to dry out sufficiently so that we could flatten out the area to remove the ruts that were left, however due to COVID-19 we paused activities at this site.
We are continuing to work closely with our construction partners to review the works on our construction sites in line with Government and Public Health England (PHE) advice on dealing with COVID-19. The Government’s current COVID-19 strategy makes clear that construction activity should continue as long as it complies with this guidance.
Our contractor is keenly aware of the need to finish the work at the club and we do fully appreciate that at this time many families are using the fields as the venue for their daily exercise. Please be assured that as soon as we are able to do so safely, we will return to the club and return the fields to their former condition.

Further tree planting will be undertaken at our site to the north of Dews Lane. This work is expected to be undertaken in the Spring.
Fencing work continues
Fencing works will continue on land in the vicinity of Dews Lane to secure the area for contractors to work in a safe manner. This will include areas of vegetation clearance, including some trees.
