Embarrassing or what? I uploaded the movie to the website but didn’t add any menu links. Fixed now, if you click on Publications or hover over it for the drop-down menu, it will take you straight to the slide show/movie. Or you can view it by clicking on the image below:

Travel impacts of HS2 and other programmes
Report from Brian Adams following HS2 Traffic Liaison meeting with LBH:
The following is our latest understanding of the works taking place locally which will impact travelling. Some of the programmes are still being discussed and there may be changes to durations and dates.
February
9 – 10 Chiltern Line is closed between Marylebone and High Wycombe for HS2 works
11- 17 Creation of new access to HS2 West Ruislip construction site which will result in closure of northbound cycle lane and pavement (opposite road to West Ruislip station car park)
March
11- 17 Harvil Road will be closed to enable repairs to the railway bridge (Note: this is a Network Rail programme not HS2)
March -April
HS2 Test pilings for the viaduct will be made in West Hyde, off Harvil Road (and possibly Moorhall Road). This will create HGV movements in Harvil Road, Swakeleys Road and Swakeleys roundabout. The peak HGV movement is anticipated to be 300 per day.
May – July
HS2 closure of Breakspear Road South for 8 weeks. Currently scheduled to start 24 May but community concern over impact to students taking examinations may lead to change.
HS2 Tunnel Boring Machine power supply
This programmes is still under discussion but HS2 has proposed a route. This can be seen in this map (PowerPoint). Initially there will be test trenches but once the programme proceeds it will take place over a year. We are advised that one lane will always remain open and no resident will have works in front of their house for more than 4 weeks.
RAF Resurfacing of Northolt runway
There will be HGV movements but we do not yet have details of routes or numbers.
HS2 Main Works
We await details of the HGV movements.

Planned Breakspear Road South road closure UPDATE
Posted on Jan 31st 2019 by HS2 in Hillingdon
We had previously made you aware through other works notifications of our plans for a full eight week road closure of Breakspear Road South that was due to take place in February. This has now been rescheduled to take place during the summer. We will let you know the exact dates once they have been agreed and confirmed.
Local HS2 traffic movements update
The proposed 8-week closure of Breakspear Road South will not take place at the end of February. Dates yet to be finalised but could be 24 May start.
Test Piling by contractors at sites in Harvil Road, A412 and possibly Moorhall Road will create peak HGV movements at Swakeleys Roundabout, Swakeleys Road and Harvil Road of 300 per day during March and April.

Swakeleys Roundabout modifications update
Committee member Brian Adams summarises the current situation with Swakeleys Roundabout as follows:
The Transport for London (TfL) application, supported by HS2, to install traffic lights on Swakeleys roundabout has not been approved by the London Borough of Hillingdon. The TfL proposal did not appear to take the problems of the local road systems into account and the response to the consultation by residents was overwhelmingly against signalisation. The proposal did include improvements for pedestrians and cyclists and the London Borough of Hillingdon has proposed that TfL should proceed with these , particularly as there will be many HS2 HGVs using the roundabout when the Main Works construction takes place.

The Ultra Low Emission Zone is coming
Here are some extracts from TfL’s ULEZ pages:
To help improve air quality, an Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) will be in place in central London from 8 April 2019. Most vehicles including cars and vans will need to meet new, tighter exhaust emission standards (ULEZ standards) or pay a daily charge to travel within the area of the ULEZ.
Charges for cars (if ULEZ standards NOT met):
Daily charge – ULEZ (Low): £12.50
Penalty charge: £160 (reduced to £80 if paid within 14 days)From 25 October 2021, the ULEZ area will be expanded to include the inner London area bounded by the North and South Circular Roads.
Check your own car’s liability
Worth noting that the North and South Circular Roads are themselves outside the zone.
