Spring newsletter and 2016 AGM minutes
As you may know, we publish newsletters on line as soon as the next one hits the streets. So the Spring one is now online. With AGMs, we can’t publish the minutes until they’re approved, a year later at the next AGM. I should have posted the 2016 ones in April. So, the 2016 AGM minutes are here now, with my apologies.

TfL propose new Ickenham-Heathrow bus service
Transport for London (TfL) have reviewed bus services ahead of the opening of Crossrail (the Elizabeth Line) next year because :
“the opening of the Elizabeth line from 2018 will further transform how people move about in London”.

TfL have launched a consultation on proposed changes (closing 17th Sept):
Our existing local services seem unaffected, but one of the proposed changes is a new ‘route 278’ between Ruislip and Heathrow Airport, Central Bus Station via Hayes & Harlington station. It would run the full length of Long Lane and via Hillingdon, Hayes End, Church Road and Hayes town centre. It would run at 5 buses per hour Monday to Saturday daytimes and 3 bph Sundays and all evenings using double-deck buses.
TfL State:
“Consultation will be undertaken on the service changes. Following analysis of the
responses, the next step will be determine whether or not a specific scheme should
proceed or whether it should be amended in some way.
Other considerations will also need to be taken account as part of coming to a final
decision. This includes TfL’s financial position and the affordability of the schemes.
In some instances physical constraints e.g. new stands may be a barrier to delivery.
Precisely when service changes will be made will be subject to further consideration
but would broadly align with the various phases of the Elizabeth line opening.
Finally the bus network will be kept under review enabling further changes to be made
to bus services in the future.”
Master Brewer site exhibitions
These will be held at the Master Brewer site on 18th July 2pm to 8pm and in St Giles Village Hall on 20th 4:30pm to 7:30.

HS2 imminent activities
At the latest meeting with HS2, we raised with them the recent confusions over the use of the fields by the cricket club and asked that they significantly improve their communications with the community.
HS2 has now advised us of some forthcoming work. Two sites off Harvil Road will be required for gas pipeline diversions. One site is before the railway bridge and the other after the bridge, close to the Dogs Trust. Initially the work will involve clearing the sites and then the contractors will move in and perform the work lasting to December 2018. Harvil Road has accident black spots and it may be necessary to have traffic signals at the access points to both sites.
Tell the police what’s bugging you
The police are running a survey into what bothers Ickenham people. They say they use the information gathered when setting their priorities.

Remember June 23rd last year? For some of you, it was less about the Referendum and more about the local flooding. The residents have spoken and experts have investigated. The .pdf report is 78.2MB. The quick way to find the local bits is to search for Ickenham. You’ll see all the reported incidents with a few of going into further detail with maps, actions taken, etc.
(I tried searching by road name but was less successful. I believe that Ivy House Road/Milton Road suffered quite badly but could find no details. Perhaps that one wasn’t 23rd June or may)
